On Wednesday, March 13th, the two classes 5a and 5b and their great teachers Mr Wieser, Mr Rettl and Mrs Kaltenböck set off to England to get to know the English culture and language. On weekdays we were supposed to have school from 9 a.m. to 12:30 a.m, where we were about to learn a lot about England and had a lot of fun. After school it was our goal to experience new things.

On the day of our arrival – it was already quite late - we were able to get to know our host families.

On Thursday, which was our first actual day, we explored the place we were staying at: Eastbourne.

On the next day, we took the train to Brighton, right after school. As usual, we had about

one to two hours to explore the city on our own and maybe do some shopping.

On Saturday our mood was great: we went to London where we were able to experience and see and do a lot of exciting things (HOP ON/ HOP OFF bus tour, London Eye, walk of Westminster, shopping, …)

Sunday was more relaxed. We were allowed to sleep in. On the agenda: Beachy Head. With a lot of motivation, we went up a huge hill. Thanks to the English weather, the view was foggy, and we couldn't see anything. Some of the students went to a nice Indian restaurant afterwards, which they really enjoyed and would have loved to go back to for a second meal.

On Monday all of us went to school and had a lovely morning together. We really took pleasure in getting taught by our British teachers. In the afternoon the whole lot of us went on a train ride to Hastings, where some really amusing things happened. After we had arrived in Hastings, we didn't waste any time and went straight to Hastings Castle. After having arrived at the top of the hill as well as having enjoyed the view from atop, some of our classmates socialized with some friendly German students. Afterwards there was some free time to do some sightseeing on our own.

On Tuesday we had our last day of school and said goodbye to all English teachers, who had taught us a lot of interesting things about English history and culture. In the afternoon most of the students went out to eat at a restaurant for one last time. A few of the students even had some encounters with a handful of British people.

On Wednesday all of us were kind of sad because our journey had already come to an end.

In conclusion, we’d all like to thank our teachers for such a beautiful class trip!
